This article aims to highlight an exciting new feature introduced in the Oracle Procurement Cloud with Release 25A. Users can add new requirements during the supplier negotiation process. The feature utilizes GenAI to generate new relevant requirements while negotiating with the supplier. Let’s explore how to configure and execute this feature effectively.
Configuration
Here are the steps to configure this new feature.
1. Log in to the application. This is how the home screen will look like.

2. Click the ‘Settings and Actions’ from the top right and click ‘Setup and Maintenance’ under ‘Administration’.

3. Ensure you have ‘Procurement’ for ‘Setup’ and click the ‘Manage Negotiation Styles’ task under ‘Sourcing’.

4. Choose the Negotiation Style for which the ‘AI Assist’ feature need to be enabled. In this case, we choose ‘Lifescience’. Click the Negotiation Style name hyperlink or the pencil shaped Edit button.

5. Make sure the ‘AI Assist’ checkbox is enabled which appears under ‘Cover Page’. Click the ‘Save and Close’ once done.

The above steps will enable this feature and the configuration part is complete.
Execution
Here are the steps to execute this new feature.
1. Click the ‘Negotiations’ tile under ‘Procurement’ from the home screen.

2. Click the ‘Create Negotiation’ task under ‘Negotiations’.

3. Choose the ‘Lifescience’ ‘Negotiation Style’ for which ‘AI Assist’ feature has been enabled. Click the ‘Create’ button.

4. After filling in the details at the ‘Overview’ and ‘Lines’ train stops, you can see the different requirements already available in this negotiation. Click the ‘AI Assist’ button.

5. Under ‘Section’, type the new requirement and click the ‘Generate’ button.

6. Requirements related to Intellectual Property are automatically generated using the AI Assist feature. Click the pencil shaped Edit button to take a detailed look at the generated requirement.

7. Feel free to make any changes as required to generated requirement. Click the ‘Save’ button once done.

8. After updating the requirements as required, select the ones that are relevant and click the ‘Add’ button once done.

9. A notification is received that the requirements were added to the negotiation. Click the ‘OK’ button to acknowledge.

10. The new requirements generated using AI Assist are now available in the negotiation. Continue to progress with the negotiation as required.

This feature is incredibly useful where generic requirements have to be added on the go or where the user needs something to get started on a new requirement. By enabling this feature, buyers save their precious time all the while making the most of the generative artificial intelligence capabilities of the Oracle Procurement Cloud.
